Drought Master and the Hose Pipe BanFollowing summers of hosepipe bans, particularly in the South-East of England, Online Turf have developed a non-rye seed mixture that can survive the harshest of drought conditions. Our Drought Master turf comes with our hydro-store crystals that help keep the water in the ground near the roots until it is needed by the turf plant. Simply working these crystals into the soil underneath your turf will help maintain a healthy lawn for up to five years.
Drought Master turf also includes a free watering can with every order. Although this method of watering takes longer than using a hosepipe, it does mean you can still effectively water your garden despite any restrictions that may have been put in place. The hydro-store crystals will also help to keep the moisture locked into your garden for longer. Drought Master contains drought resistant grass species to cope with the drier climate in some parts of the UK. Despite all this, the non-rye grass still has a beautiful appearance.
Drought Master is grown from the following seed mixture: 45% Slender Creeping Red Rescue (Oriflamme)
Slender Creeping Red Fescue and Chewings Fescue are able to cope with dry drought conditions. The lawn will still need water during the first week immediately after laying to establish roots, but then will be prepared to cope with dry conditions.
