"After watching 'Rip Off Britain' about bogus 5-Star reviews, I was rather sceptical by all the 5-Star reviews for this company....I went ahead and ordered, keeping fingers crossed...and tracked the order....It arrived exactly when they said it would, along with fertiliser...brilliant...it was utterly first class 'Golden Rye' (went for the best cos it was still cheaper than B&Q and ALL three local garden centres). I spent the rest of the day laying it, finishing around 7.00pm had less than 12 square inches left over and got the sprinkler straight on it....took photos the next day and 3 days on, have difficulty even seeing the joins!! We could not be happier, and this is a TOTALLY GENUINE REVIEW......please put me down as the first 6-Star review!! Thank you very much....so good in this day and age to find a company with 1st class product, 1st class delivery and 1st class service...."

"Rye Gold came bang on schedule, pallet shrink-wrapped and 18 square metres in excellent condition. The turves were very evenly cut and the sward was lovely and thick and a beautiful colour. I was also pleasantly surprised that I was also given a complimentary bag of pre-lay fertilizer, seeing I had only ordered a small amount of turves. The driver was very efficient, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and polite and explained that the turves should be laid immediately for best results. I had the ground well prepared so laid immediately. after scattering the dry- mix fertilizer on the prepared moist topsoil bed and the turves looked brilliant straight away. I gave it a good watering and it also rained that night. I butted them up tightly and added a handful of topsoil along each joint as I went, rubbing this in by hand (not sure if this is overkill, but I read it somewhere on line). That was 5 days ago and it has been excellent weather since, i.e. warm but plenty of rain, so I haven't needed to water it yet. The topsoil I rubbed into the joints is now invisible and the lawn looks brilliant. Many thanks, I couldn't be more satisfied."

My 105m2 turned up on pallets all wrapped, driver was very helpful, I started to to lay my lawn, was impressed with how thick the grass was to start with. "The rolls arrived at the time I'd arranged and the driver was very helpful, Even though it was very hot the grass was on pallets and cling-filmed and still moist and came supplied with food to spread on the ground before you lay the lawn. One week after laying it looks amazing, very green and the joints have knitted together very well. "Ordered 315m2 of Rye Gold Turf for next day delivery, and chose an AM delivery. The positives and negatives are below. DELIVERY: Delivery arrived at 8:15am, as I requested an AM delivery. I was very pleased about this as I was worried this might turn up as late as 1pm (according to customer services this is stil lclassed as AM for some reason?) Delivery was made on 6 pallets - of which each one weighed about 1 ton per pallet. The driver could not get these off on his own, which meant me hopping on board to help push the loads. Not a massive problem but had this been a delivery for someone not as able, this would have resulted in a non delivery. The pallets were all wedged in on the truck. It took about 40 minutes to offload the turf TURF QUALITY: On the whole the quality is good. The grass is definately free of weeds, and has good growth. The annoying thing here is the 20 or so sods of turf I had 'been smuggled' into my order that were of sub standard quality, with either tatty edges that were falling away from the turf, or big holes missing from the middle resulting in 2 long starnds of turf rolled up to look like a roll. It was obvious to look at these that they were not useable, yet they were included when the pallet was packed. I over ordered to compensate for any measuring mistakes, and was left with 2 rolls of turf. Had I not overorderd I would have been about 12m short. This is a quality control issue that needs addressing when packing. Another annoyance was the difference in thickness of the turf. Some rolls were about 2 inches thick, were as others were about an inch, which means any preperation to the base prior to laying is negated by the difference in turf height.Watch out for this when laying! Im guessing this is due to the uneven land the turf is grown on which results in the cutting machine moving up and down when removing the turf?! After laying this over 2 days, and nearly breaking my back in the process, I must conclude that for the above negatives I am overall very happy with the results. The lawn looks great and would use this company again. I hope they take my constructive criticism onboard for future customers and address these minor problems"
