Most turf needs large amounts of water during the summer months to keep it in optimum condition. High temperatures and rapid growth place extra demands when water is at is scarcest. Normally this is not a problem because the simple solution is to water your garden using a hose pipe. Unfortunately in many parts of the South East of England this is no longer possible and, with the drought situation looking like a long term problem, we have worked to seek an alternative solution.
It is still acceptable to water your turf using a watering can and, although this obviously is more hassle than just using a hose pipe, it is possible to do most domestic gardens in a surprisingly short length of time. This method tends to put less water onto the turf and to help maximise the benefit gained from this, and natural rainfall, we are introducing Hydro-store to our product range. This will be included, complimentary, with our Drought Master range of turf.
Hydro Store granules are spread on the ground and raked into the top 5cm of the soil before laying the turf. This advanced product is perfectly safe and easy to use and lasts for up to five years. Hydro Store works by absorbing water into the granules and releasing the moisture slowly, as it is needed by the turf. Roots even grow through the gel packs, as you can see in the picture below.
